Getting to Know You....

Believe it or not
I don't like being in the spotlight very much.
So when someone is kind enough like Connie from Shady Creek Lane
to pass on a blog award to little old me.....
I get a bit nervous, of what to say.....
I feel like Sally Field at the Academy Awards...
"You like me?  You really like me!"
Hee hee hee....So here it is:

1. Accept and thank the person who sent it to you.
2. List 10 things about yourself.
3. List 5 additional things you don't like.
4. Pass the award on to 10 other bloggers.

Ten things about me.....
1. My favorite color is purple.
2. If I had to go to school again I'd want to be a landscape architect.
3. I lived in Korea for 3 years as a child.
4. I have 2 cats and "accidentally" a squirrel for pets.
5. I love drive in movies.
6. I'm deathly afraid of big bodies of water....I saw Jaws at too young of an age;)!
7. I'm a DIY TV junkie!
8. I'm ridiculously sentimental.
9. I love my family more than anything.
10. I love black and white photos or anything sepia.
Five things I DON'T like.
1. Peas.  I like them fresh from the garden but hate them cooked.  Even the smell makes me gag.
2. Squished animals on the road.
3. Liars.
4. People who aren't loyal.
5. Seafood.

A Special Thanks to my Hubby for providing me with all the above answers!:)
I love so many blogs out there it's hard to pick and choose only 10 to give this to!  If you want to see who I like to check out all the time visit my blog list!  There's some really good ones!  Make sure to go give Connie a visit too!  She's not only super nice but she's completely inspiring!!!
Later this week I promise to show some stuff I've been up to......a fun monogram, some patriotic letters and a few other things.......

Go Fly A Kite!

My sister Candace has the sweetest sister-in-law Leesa
who requested I cut her out a kite for her Seasonal Hanger
and I must say I am pleased with the result!

So much so that I'll be offering these as "Kits to Go"
down at Paper Cottage
along with a Dandy Tie just in time for Father's Day!

Each hanger comes in a kit ready to be assembled
for only $15 each!
If you don't have the hanger you can easily make these into door hangers with
a little ribbon tied through the hooks!

Don't forget to personalize the tie for your Dad!

Last year Avery and I made one for our Daddy
and he loved it!

I WISH...

By popular demand I'm going to be
doing the WISH letters again for a class
down at Paper Cottage.
After posting about them over at Crafty Sisters
and making some for our Spring Boutique
I've had several requests for them.
Since I like to give you guys what you want....

This time I put the cute little clothespins on the back to hold pictures
like Angela did on hers over at Secrets of a Super Mommy!
They turned out really Fun~~~thanks Angela for your brilliant idea!!!
Love it!
Here's a heart plaque I put together after being inspired by something similar in
Simply Handmade magazine.
I love that magazine!  If you haven't checked it out you must!
I'm a sucker for hearts and buttons!
Here's a few other fun things I've done this last month!
First is this cute re-creation of sorts for a birthday present
for my friend's son.
His older brother had gotten one when he was a baby
and of course he needed one, bigger and better!
I can't wait to see his all decorated~~I'm told it will be all Star Wars!
Here's another fun font that I just love how it turned out!

The font is called Life Craft!

Isn't the S/dragon so cool?
I love doing fun letters like these!

Tomorrow I'm working on the TIE and KITE hangers
for the Seasonal Hanger.
So stay tuned for a peek at them!

Dear Mother, All Flowers Remind Me of You

Just in time for Mother's Day
is my version of easy gardening!
I knew as soon as I saw the new Basic Grey Paper and the cute flowers on the paper
that this was what I needed to make!
My little girl had so much helping pick out all the buttons for the flowers!
I'll be teaching a class on these in April down at Paper Cottage
and hopefully get some ready for my Etsy shop too!

Last week's Boutique was really fun!
My sister Candace and I were so busy trying to make fun stuff to share!
We were up to our eyeballs in moss, eggs and bunnies!

 I just love making bunnies!
Here's a picture of some that I made for it.
We wanted to share a little bit of our fun projects and offered a set for our
First Official Giveaway over at Crafty Sisters!

Thank you to all of you wondeful Ladies who have sent in pictures!
I have some more to post this week so we can all marvel at your great creativity!
Seriously, I love seeing what you put together, call it a guilty pleasure of mine!
Keep em' coming!

Anyone For A Spring Boutique?

I have to admit I'm really excited for this boutique that
Holiday House was so kind to invite us to be a part of.
In fact I found myself daydreaming of all the fun things
to make and wondering why Christmas crafts couldn't all be
pretty shades of pastels and bunnies, it would be so much funner!
We Crafty Sisters have some fun things planned to bring
plus there will be tons of other cute stuff
just in time to fill those Easter Baskets!

Now what I'm really excited for is this SHOW & TELL!!!
Remember wonderful Connie?  We featured her
drop dead gorgeous heart wreath over at Crafty Sisters.
Well she's at it again and was kind enough to send me some pictures!

Seriously...could this be any more beautiful?
I was in complete awe!
This cool HoHoHo was actually all one piece of wood.
Connie saw the idea in a magazine and brought it to me.
I even put keyholes in the back so this one can hang up on a wall.
Doesn't Connie's Joy just make you happy?
Next up is Connie's Daughter's work!
These letters we did in the same font as my Fall letters.
I just love all the decorations and do-dads she put on here.  Love it!
Last but not least are the baby letters she did up for her little girl's room!
I have to admit the font with these letters is still one of my all time fav's!
Great job Girls!  I am so impressed!
I need to come pick your brains for some decorating ideas!
Thanks so much for sending these in and sharing them with us!

I have a couple of projects up my sleeve that hopefully I'll get done this week and post about.
Last year I had so much fun cutting out some projects for some of my neighborhood friends.
They have their oldest children getting married and they needed some family keepsakes they had made several years ago copied so each "new" family member was included in their celebrations.
I have to admit this part of my job I really enjoy!
I love seeing and learning about the fun things you do with your families!
So there's a silly bunny I cut out last year that's
just screaming for a coat of paint and some ribbon....

Some Bunny To Love.....

I heard the Queen song on the radio today and I can't get it out of my head....
and since I was busy making all things Bunny and Easter, it seemed fitting for a title.
I'm a sucker for all things pink.
Really, there is pink in everything I create, it's shocking if there isn't.
Lucky for me my little girl shares this fancy and it was so fun to see her reaction to my Easter creations.
"ohhhhhhhhh Mom, it's soooooooo Beeee-utiiiii-fulllllllllll"
"Will you make some letters for my room with those papers?????"
She officially gave me the 2 thumbs up!
I'll be teaching the EASTER letters and the EASTER EGGS
the first 2 weekends in March
as classes down at Paper Cottage
where you can pick up a kit to go or
order them through my little Etsy Shop.
I'm so excited for Spring to be here, are you???

FHE & Bob Loblaw.....

Yes, I'm a total psycho fan of Arrested Development.
Seriously, I love watching it and I laugh like crazy whenever I do.
So when I was thinking of my post and all I wanted to cover all I could think of was
Blah, Blah, Blah
which is where Arrested Development comes in to the picture and their attorney
Bob Loblaw.  Get it?  Now say it 5 times as fast as you can!  I swear it's funny!
First:

Family Home Evening or Job Chart DONE! Check!
I wanted to make something up that was totally different from what's out there.
Something that could be used for lots of things with a focus on Home and Family.
I'm feeling pretty happy about this one!
I'll be teaching a class at Paper Cottage on the 27th of February
and will also be available in my Etsy Shop.

Second:
I haven't figured out how to link comments to my email and so I totally missed this very kind and my very first blog award!  Thanks Lyndsey over at Lyndsey's Craft Spot!
Instructions:

* To accept you must post it on your blog along with the name of the person who granted you the award and link back to them.
* Pass the award on to approximately 15 other bloggers that you have recently discovered and think are great.
* Contact the bloggers and let them know that they have been chosen for the award.
* List 3 things that you would like to learn how to do.
I would like to learn to:
*Be a "real" carpenter--like actually take a fancy class and learn the "right" way to work with wood.
* Watercolor.  I love watercolor stuff!
* How to sew something I'd actually wear....I can sew, I just won't wear it, and I'd actually like to.:)

Third:
Some of my very talented friends have put together a new little blog to spot light their amazing talents and classes they are offering!  Celeste and Melena are two of the most talented Scrappin' Ladies I know so you'll have to go check them out Here!

I've been having way too much fun with my sister Candace over at Crafty Sisters

I'm still crazy proud of magnetic board and I'm trying to get the courage to hang it up.....
