Cursive Cuteness!

Cursive fonts are so in right now~I just love them!
I had to make something too!

I found this really fun font to use and grabbed some cute paper down at Hobby Lobby.
That store...I could literally spend hours there!

I've been fiddling around with whether I should link all the letters or do them separately~
What do you guys think?
My sister told me to "branch out" and "try something new".  It's a change for me, you guys know how I love my bright colors and glitter.  I'm also trying to update on here when I can.  My sister and I have been so busy with life that we've been slow posting over at Crafty Sisters, let alone here.  So if this page hasn't update for a while make sure to pop over to Crafty Sisters to see what we've been up to.  Now if I can only survive the next couple of weeks till school is out....I see a summer of fun projects ahead!

Girly Pennant Banner

Just had to share how cute this little banner turned out!
It was a gift from an Aunt to her Niece for her birthday
to hang in her room.  I wish my picture did it justice~you know me, I'm never good at snapping pictures when I'm trying to whisk things out the door into the mail.
Not only did I love it but now my daughter is requesting~well, more like ordering me to make one
for her room.  Of course it's going to have to have owls on it.....boy I'm going to have to think about how to put that one together!
I got a few more Easter sets done and cut out a few extra bunny silhouettes from our Wood You Like To Craft project this month.
I've felt like I've had an extra oomph to me with the beautiful sunshine and weather lately.  Don't you just love spring!?

Brrrrrrr......it's cold!

Brrrr.....it's been so cold here that it's not very exciting to cut wood when I can't feel my fingers.  It takes my little heater all day running to heat up my shed enough for it to be tolerable to cut.  And I use the word tolerable loosely.

Had to show you all a quick shot of a custom set of Believe letters I did up right before Christmas and thought they were so fun!  I used a lot of the same papers from the FaLaLa set of letters I did.  I was really happy with the result and even happier to figure out how to retrieve the picture from my phone.
Life has been crazy and this blog has been on the back burner while I tried to make it through the Holidays and keep up with my church and PTO duties.  Yup, somehow I was talking into being the VP of our school's PTO.  It's been a very interesting learning experience but it also takes a lot of time and commitment.  I'm still thinking there might be a way to set this blog up as a gallery of sorts but have it all linked through my other blog with my sister, Crafty Sisters.  I need to get a bit more computer literate to do that one.:)

I did get a couple of things listed in Etsy today.  I only have one set of BE MINE letters left with this fun vintage paper.  I have to admit that these are probably one of my very favorite letters that I've done.  I do love the Dr. Pepper can hearts!  I also have a couple of sets of SWAK letters too.  I just love the red glitter lips!
I was going through my papers and found enough to put together 3 sets of the Believe letters in most of the original papers.  I still need to list them......
I'm anxious for it to warm up and for Spring to be here.  The other day I was in Hobby Lobby looking at Valentine stuff and I have to admit I thought it was so Ho Hum and found myself gravitating over to the Easter stuff being brought in.  The colors, the animals, everything about it just makes me happy and eager to create.
What do you get more excited for~Valentines or Easter?
Hearts or baby chicks and bunnies.....life is full of hard choices huh!
Happy Weekend!

Halloween Goodies

Wanted to share a couple of peeks of a few things I made for the Boo-tique
that I just loved!

Remember the unfinished pictures of these Spooky letters I did up last year for Amanda?
They were so fun I just had to do a couple of sets up for the boutique.  They are fun aren't they!

I was on overload the last few weeks with having company in town for the big BSU/BYU game.
Plus every Saturday morning ESPN's college game day is blasting from my family room
so I had to make some Team letters up.
These little pumpkins I think were my absolute favorite!
I love pear shaped pumpkins, they just make me happy!
My sister and I found the cutest stickers at Michael's from K&Company.
These Creepy tombstones were so fun with the crow and bat flying overhead.
Plus I found the coolest excelsior that matched graveyard grass.
I loved the lightness of papers I used on the Fall letters too.
It's funny how I am actually more inspired helping my clients with projects than anything else.
It's hard to come up with stuff sometimes and these Fall letters were inspired by
by my great friend Cary.
It's hard to believe that the next boutique is just a month away!
Over the past 4 years I have found out that I actually work best under pressure....
I guess that's a good thing!

On a really fun note~I actually took some "ME" time this week
as a couple of my friends who are master tole painters
invited me to have lessons to paint!
I made the cutest Vampire that I'll take pictures of to share with y'all.
He is so cute and not half bad for my first time painting.
I can see how it could become very addicting!
I just love Fall/Halloween crafts!
Do you?

Halloween Boo-tique 2012

It's hard to believe that it's already Fall around here!
FYI~next week is Holiday House's fun Fall/Halloween Boo-tique!
Here's the adorable flier:
Don't forget to "like" them on Facebook and enter for a chance
to win some boutique bucks to spend!
For me~I'm already dreaming of the yummy caramel covered marshmallow treats
that Lovin' Oven cooks up!
Meanwhile I've been busy as ever cutting out witch shoes
and my house is covered with spiderweb yarn and googly eyeballs.....
I love Halloween!
Hope to see you there!

Summer Sweets

I love getting emails from you guys
but I especially love when anyone sends me
a picture of their completed projects!
I love seeing how every one's personality shows through
in the papers and paint they choose or how they display things.
This picture was just sent in from my wonderful friend Susie.
She had requested a flag like the one I had hanging on
my front door last summer so I was happy to help.
It was one of the first projects my sister Candace and I
put together when I moved here.
I must admit Susie's flag is much cuter than
mine and looks adorable in her garden!
Thanks Susie!
I have some great pictures I want to share
if I can only figure out how to get
email pictures off my phone.....:)
Happy Thursday Friends!

Spring Things

I have felt like for four years now
I have focused on my little business and
everything else has taken a back seat.
Which means my house has a multitude of repairs
that need to be done, a yard/garden left in despair
and complete disorganization on my part.
Those of you who have come by my house are witness to this.
So I apologize in my lack of blogging,
I've been busy working with wood and recapturing my chaos.:)
My house may still be a bit crazy but my garden is looking
pretty darn good if I do say so!
Above is a peek at all those tulips I told you guys about
that I planted at Christmas time~aren't they so pretty!

I totally forgot to show a couple of pics from the
Spring boutique which was so fun!!
I seriously love everything about spring,
the colors alone just make me happy.
Here's my little display!
I just loved how these bunnies turned out!
Thanks to all of you who came out to support me at the Holiday House Boutique!
I just love working with those gals and this spring boutique
surely didn't disappoint!
I walked away with many goodies I found there!

School is out this week and I will be grateful for the relief
of running back and forth as a taxi.
I've got great plans for this fall/winter season
that I can't wait to share with you!

Past & Present Projects

I apologize for the crummy pictures.
I have put myself on a self imposed ban from taking
pictures for our Crafty Sister blog
because as you can see, my pictures are lame.
Especially when I try to snap a quick picture before they head out the door.
Can you guess what I'm going to get with my tax return?:)

I thought it would be fun to just show a couple of projects from
the last 6 months that I actually managed to snap a quick shot of.

Above is a BSU Broncos piece that some kind parents
were making up for their son's room!
I did these letters for some cute kids that got married this summer.
The phone was so fun to do and I loved the est. 2011 on it.
These 2 are some fun ones I did~notice the Fall is in the same font as Call above.
Who can resist curly fonts?  Not me~I love em'!
This picture is atrocious but they were so pretty in person.
These were made for a gal to hang above her bed
and they were glittered to the hilt.
I wanted to keep them classy and didn't want to cover
up the pretty scroll work.
These are done in the same font as the Kelly wedding letters I did earlier this year.
These are keyholed in the back for easy hanging.

These bad boys were really fun and a bit hard to do
but totally worth it.
Aren't they great!
Here's the Kelly font again~
I got my router out and had fun with this plaque edge too.

Here's more of a boy version of the plaque.  Nice and manly right?
I'll have to say I really enjoy what I'm able to do
and even more so I love to help others personalize each project.
It is so much fun!
On a very sweet note, I got an email a couple of weeks ago
from a concerned follower of our Crafty Sister's blog.
She had noticed on Etsy that someone was not only selling the exact same designs
that I had but was even using my pictures.
She thought I should know what was up.
I seriously just cried that morning because this gal,
a stranger I didn't even know, was looking out for me.
It touched my heart so much!
I replied to her that I did know~that the gal ordered from me and sold
her things across the country and it was just easier for me to
let her use my pictures than worry about taking new ones.

I seriously feel so grateful for all of you and
your loyalty and support for me over the years.
I have felt like it hasn't been a business relationship
but that I have met some of the most wonderful people
and made amazing friends through my love of crafting.
Thank you so much!

Also thanks for being patient with my lack of posts.
Once I get done working on Crafty Sisters
I'm about spent.
But hey, Spring is almost here!
I can't wait for my tulips and daffodils to come up!
And you know how I love me my Spring/Easter crafts!:)
T-1 month till the Spring boutique....better get to work!

SWAK Wood Letters

I've always wanted to do some SWAK letters
and finally got around to it!
I really wanted a fun playful font and
used some of the gorgeous My Mind's Eye paper
that we used over at Crafty Sisters for a fun
Valentine banner.  My pictures don't do it justice!
I used some of our Meyer Imports German Glass Glitter
for the lips, which turned out quite delicious!
Very fun!
I also finally used the last of my paper
to make up a couple of sets of Be Mine letters.
I absolutely loved these,
probably more so because I got to use
my Dr. Pepper cans to adorn them.

I tried searching all over last night for anywhere that might have
any of this paper left and I came up empty handed.
Anyone got any ideas of where to look?
It's Vintage Valentine by Fancy Pants Designs.
I love this paper!

I'm thinking I might just surpass anything Shamrock-ish this year
because I get so excited to do Spring crafts.
What is it about those colors and bunny rabbits that make me so giddy?
It is by far my favorite time of year,
when the tulips all start coming up~I love it!
Right after Christmas we had an unusually warm couple of days
and I headed outside and planted 130+ bulbs
that I picked up for 75% off this fall and didn't manage
to get them in the ground until then.
I'm looking forward to a glorious show this year,
and yes, they have nothing to do with wood
but I promise I'll share the pictures!
Happy February Friends!:)

A Peek Back!

Since it's been a million years
since I posted anything I thought it
would be fun to show you a couple of pictures of one of
my big projects I worked on this fall.
I was lucky to be able to cut out some fun Nativity's for a local gal
here in town who is a very talented painter as well.
Yes, I've begged for lessons!
The patterns were from books she said she's had for a couple of decades
so I had so much fun just seeing the patterns!
She was kind enough to let Avery and I sneak over and
snag some pictures of the finished results.
Bare with me and my lame camera, the lighting was not optimal.:)
Each set had over 30 ish pieces to it and I did 9 sets of them
so I was pretty busy with these.
I am just amazed at all the detail these ladies were able to
put on each piece.
Now that's a Christmas gift I would have loved to get!

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get my stuff together and
my little blog will get an over haul from Krystal over at Sassy Sanctuary.
She said she would help me and she did such a great job
with Crafty Sisters for us that it was an easy choice
for me to get help.

I've been cutting out some fun new Valentine stuff
so stay tuned for pictures in the next couple of days!

Christ Wood Letters

Well the last of my boutiques finished on Wednesday
and I can say I survived!
Thank you to everyone for all your kindness and support!
Here is my favorite I did this year.
I have the cutest little elderly couple that live across the street from me.
They come and check on me to make sure I'm not working too hard
and a couple of years ago the wife gave me
an old flannel block pattern she had used for her own kids and grand kids
and also now for her great grand kids.
So I'm guessing it's about 50 years old.
I saw a Super Saturday idea for these but it seems
no one on the internet can track down the source
so I knew this pattern would be perfect to create some of my own.
I am a huge fan of making "Christ" the center of Christmas
and I'm always glad for an excuse to decorate that way.
Now if I can just summon the courage to get out the Christmas decorations....

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!
My little family and I went and hibernated over at my parents house,
where I was grateful for medicine for the lovely ulcer I've accumulated over this season,
for yummy food I was able to help cook with my family,
for the peaceful and loving home my parents provide
where I received the rest and comfort I needed.
Happy Holidays!

Last But Not Least....

Yup, I said it.
This is the last boutique/bazaar of the season I'm involved with
and it's for sure one you won't want to miss!!

My wonderful neighbor Sherrie and her hubby
run their own business and supply gift stores
with a nice stash of goodies
that I admit, they were my source last year for most of my Christmas shopping!
Yes, I'll have a few things there and my other amazing friend
Jill will have her talents there too!
She creates the most beautiful necktie necklaces
and boot mock socks just to name a few!
I'm hoping to get a few pictures posted this week of my
favorite crafts from this season....
and hopefully finally get some sleep.:)

Holiday House Christmas Boutique

I can hardly believe the Christmas boutiques are already here!
Here's the invite for my favorite one
Holiday House Boutique!

It's only about a week and a half away and I'm
busy busy trying to put the finishing touches on everything.
I did pull out of another fabulous one that starts tomorrow
that you don't want to miss either!
The Brookwood Bazaar
out in Eagle off of Floating Feather and Eagle Road
is a great bazaar with so many talented gals!
I had too many irons in the fire this week
with my baby girl turning 8!
Can you believe it?
So with birthdays and in-laws, school fundraiser and Halloween
all in one week....I decided I wanted to keep my sanity.:)

I promise to post some pictures soon, and not just over at Crafty Sisters.
I've got some really fun elf shoes I'm working on......
Happy Crafting everyone!:)

First Boo-tique Down....

Here are my Halloween letters for this year!
Spooky
Fun huh?
I've been thinking about these for a while now and
was sure happy with how they turned out.
A huge THANK YOU!
to all of you who came out to support the
Holiday House Boo-tique this weekend!
There was so much fun stuff there and it was
so fun to see and hear from so many of you!
I joked over on our Crafty Sister's Blog about
my 3 night in a row all night craft-fest
which I'm still feeling.....
I am old, that is for sure.
I love Halloween and love making anything
to do with it!
I find myself gravitating to more interesting shapes and less fluff.

I found some fun paper that I did up my Witch letters in.
These I think are my favorite I've done, I just love my witch!
I used to have nightmares as a kid about a mean green witch
that was out to get me and would disappear in a tornado of green smoke.
Hmmmmm, think I saw The Wizard of Oz too many times.:)
My mind is a buzz with ideas for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Can you believe I only have a month until our next Bazaar!
Yikes!
I better get to work!!!!

I've been busy making some "spooky" stuff which
I promise I'll post pictures of this weekend!
Don't miss out on our favorite Boo-tique
this weekend with the Holiday House gals!
There's some really cute stuff there!
Happy Weekend Everyone!:)

Summer Catch Up!

Okay, as you guys can tell I've been pretty slow to update!
It seems like once I work with Candace on Crafty Sisters
my little wood blog gets a bit left behind.
So...
here are a few fun photos I've been wanting to update
and I still have a couple more to add later this week!
Above are some more Seasonal Shape Ornaments
for the Magnetic Hanging Board.
Isn't the cupcake for birthdays fun?
These are perfect for those who don't get around to changing them out as often as I do.:)
Remember the cute Birthday Banner I was having fun making?
Well it turned out really fun!
The thing I loved the most about it was the extra pennant
I did that was painted with black chalkboard paint.
That way each time it's used the birthday can be added in, like 1st and so on!
Fun idea huh?
Krystal over at Sassy Sancthttp://sassysanctuary.blogspot.com/uary gave us that great idea!
Carmen from Illinois was good enough to share some of her
finished project pictures with me and I just love how they turned out!
Driannah is done in the Curlz font.
These Lilliana letters are also in the Curlz font but I cut out a cute board
for them to be adhered to so it could be hung in her daughter's room.
Love the bright colors of them!
Love the papers she used on these Bloom letters!
I'm always amazed at how papers can make each set of letters look so different!

These cute set of blocks were made up for a gal
to use for her boutique displays.
I cut the paper letters out on my Cricut and was so happy with how they turned out!

What I love is when someone (Cara from NC)
sends me a sketch like this......
(by the way, I love the commentary on the sketches!)
and it becomes this......
or this sketch.....
becomes this......
or this......
becomes this.....
Cara sent me this pictures as she was doing them up,
she is making them into book ends.
What a cute idea huh!

Candace and I were working hard on our Wood You Like To Craft project last week.
I was pretty happy with what we did.
We each did a separate project with the bird/ birdhouse theme.
It will post sometime this week over on the WYLTC blog
and I promise.....seriously I promise, I'll actually post here about it too!
Hope you guys are having a fabulous summer!
