SWAK Wood Letters

I've always wanted to do some SWAK letters

and finally got around to it!

I really wanted a fun playful font and

used some of the gorgeous My Mind's Eye paper

that we used over at Crafty Sisters for a fun

Valentine banner. My pictures don't do it justice!

I used some of our Meyer Imports German Glass Glitter

for the lips, which turned out quite delicious!

Very fun!

I also finally used the last of my paper

to make up a couple of sets of Be Mine letters.

I absolutely loved these,

probably more so because I got to use

my Dr. Pepper cans to adorn them.

I tried searching all over last night for anywhere that might have

any of this paper left and I came up empty handed.

Anyone got any ideas of where to look?

I love this paper!

I'm thinking I might just surpass anything Shamrock-ish this year

because I get so excited to do Spring crafts.

What is it about those colors and bunny rabbits that make me so giddy?

It is by far my favorite time of year,

when the tulips all start coming up~I love it!

Right after Christmas we had an unusually warm couple of days

and I headed outside and planted 130+ bulbs

that I picked up for 75% off this fall and didn't manage

to get them in the ground until then.

I'm looking forward to a glorious show this year,

and yes, they have nothing to do with wood

but I promise I'll share the pictures!

A Peek Back!

Since it's been a million years

since I posted anything I thought it

would be fun to show you a couple of pictures of one of

my big projects I worked on this fall.

I was lucky to be able to cut out some fun Nativity's for a local gal

here in town who is a very talented painter as well.

Yes, I've begged for lessons!

The patterns were from books she said she's had for a couple of decades

so I had so much fun just seeing the patterns!

She was kind enough to let Avery and I sneak over and

snag some pictures of the finished results.

Bare with me and my lame camera, the lighting was not optimal.:)

Each set had over 30 ish pieces to it and I did 9 sets of them

so I was pretty busy with these.

I am just amazed at all the detail these ladies were able to

put on each piece.

Now that's a Christmas gift I would have loved to get!

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get my stuff together and

my little blog will get an over haul from Krystal over at Sassy Sanctuary.

She said she would help me and she did such a great job

with Crafty Sisters for us that it was an easy choice

for me to get help.

I've been cutting out some fun new Valentine stuff

so stay tuned for pictures in the next couple of days!

Christ Wood Letters

Well the last of my boutiques finished on Wednesday

and I can say I survived!

Thank you to everyone for all your kindness and support!

Here is my favorite I did this year.

I have the cutest little elderly couple that live across the street from me.

They come and check on me to make sure I'm not working too hard

and a couple of years ago the wife gave me

an old flannel block pattern she had used for her own kids and grand kids

and also now for her great grand kids.

So I'm guessing it's about 50 years old.

I saw a Super Saturday idea for these but it seems

no one on the internet can track down the source

so I knew this pattern would be perfect to create some of my own.

I am a huge fan of making "Christ" the center of Christmas

and I'm always glad for an excuse to decorate that way.

Now if I can just summon the courage to get out the Christmas decorations....

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

My little family and I went and hibernated over at my parents house,

where I was grateful for medicine for the lovely ulcer I've accumulated over this season,

for yummy food I was able to help cook with my family,

for the peaceful and loving home my parents provide

where I received the rest and comfort I needed.

Last But Not Least....

Yup, I said it.

This is the last boutique/bazaar of the season I'm involved with

and it's for sure one you won't want to miss!!

My wonderful neighbor Sherrie and her hubby

run their own business and supply gift stores

with a nice stash of goodies

that I admit, they were my source last year for most of my Christmas shopping!

Yes, I'll have a few things there and my other amazing friend

Jill will have her talents there too!

She creates the most beautiful necktie necklaces

and boot mock socks just to name a few!

I'm hoping to get a few pictures posted this week of my

favorite crafts from this season....

and hopefully finally get some sleep.:)

Holiday House Christmas Boutique

The Brookwood Bazaar

out in Eagle off of Floating Feather and Eagle Road

is a great bazaar with so many talented gals!

I had too many irons in the fire this week

with my baby girl turning 8!

Can you believe it?

So with birthdays and in-laws, school fundraiser and Halloween

all in one week....I decided I wanted to keep my sanity.:)

I promise to post some pictures soon, and not just over at Crafty Sisters.

I've got some really fun elf shoes I'm working on......

There was so much fun stuff there and it was

I joked over on our Crafty Sister's Blog about

my 3 night in a row all night craft-fest

which I'm still feeling.....

I am old, that is for sure.

I love Halloween and love making anything

to do with it!

I find myself gravitating to more interesting shapes and less fluff.

I found some fun paper that I did up my Witch letters in.

These I think are my favorite I've done, I just love my witch!

I used to have nightmares as a kid about a mean green witch

that was out to get me and would disappear in a tornado of green smoke.

Hmmmmm, think I saw The Wizard of Oz too many times.:)

My mind is a buzz with ideas for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Can you believe I only have a month until our next Bazaar!

Yikes!

I better get to work!!!!

Okay, as you guys can tell I've been pretty slow to update!

It seems like once I work with Candace on Crafty Sisters

my little wood blog gets a bit left behind.

So...

These are perfect for those who don't get around to changing them out as often as I do.:)

Remember the cute Birthday Banner I was having fun making?

Well it turned out really fun!

The thing I loved the most about it was the extra pennant

I did that was painted with black chalkboard paint.

That way each time it's used the birthday can be added in, like 1st and so on!

Fun idea huh?

Krystal over at Sassy Sancthttp://sassysanctuary.blogspot.com/uary gave us that great idea!

Carmen from Illinois was good enough to share some of her

finished project pictures with me and I just love how they turned out!

Driannah is done in the Curlz font.

These Lilliana letters are also in the Curlz font but I cut out a cute board

for them to be adhered to so it could be hung in her daughter's room.

Love the bright colors of them!

Love the papers she used on these Bloom letters!

I'm always amazed at how papers can make each set of letters look so different!

These cute set of blocks were made up for a gal

to use for her boutique displays.

I cut the paper letters out on my Cricut and was so happy with how they turned out!

What I love is when someone (Cara from NC)

sends me a sketch like this......

(by the way, I love the commentary on the sketches!)

Cara sent me this pictures as she was doing them up,

she is making them into book ends.

What a cute idea huh!

Candace and I were working hard on our Wood You Like To Craft project last week.

I was pretty happy with what we did.

We each did a separate project with the bird/ birdhouse theme.

It will post sometime this week over on the WYLTC blog

and I promise.....seriously I promise, I'll actually post here about it too!

Some of the first crafts that my sister and I

ever made were patriotic ones.

Something about those Americana colors just make me smile.

I've always wanted to do a set of USA letters

so of course I also had to have them

a little curly!

These are for a class coming up on the 18th

and I'll also hopefully get some up on Etsy.

I also have the next 2 shapes ready for the magnetic board!

I'm still hoping to snag a spot on the first Saturday of the month

to get together down at the store to put these together

but until then I'll just have them available

on the first Saturday of each month.

June is a star

July is a Watermelon

If you can't tell I'm trying to be a little prepared for each holiday.

What good is a star if you don't get it till after the 4th?:)

I put together a fun birthday banner this week and

I still need to download the pictures.

I got to personalize it a bit and tried something new with it too!

You'll just have to wait and see!

I'm so excited for school to be out in a week!

I actually got to sleep in this weekend when we even

had company in town.....it was a delicious indulgence,

one I'm looking forward to doing more often this summer.:)

Seasonal Magnetic Sign Class

Here is what I'm doing for my latest

ongoing class down at Paper Cottage.

Remember how much fun I had making this

Seasonal Magnetic Sign

with switch out shapes for each month?

Well I loved it so much,

I'm turning it into a class!

Each month we'll be doing a new shape

that will be ready at the first of each month.

Keep tuned for June, we'll be doing a fun

star for the 4th of July!

The shapes are so easy to store and the sign you

can hang just about anywhere.

My little girl has loved being able to switch out the shapes!

This last month has been so hectic for me.

I've had so many irons in the fire that I am amazed

that I'm still standing.

Here's a fun gift my little girl and I did for her teacher

for Teacher Appreciation week.

Her teacher got married earlier this year

and my daughter has been disturbed that she doesn't

have a sign with her new name on it outside her door.

Problem solved.:)

Next I've been busy with my little Activities Day Girls from church.

Somehow I didn't plan our schedule too well

and was stuck doing 2 craft projects in one month.

There's 15 little girls, so I had my work cut out for me!

I was able to put together these really cute picture blocks

for an outing to the temple.

Ginger and her sister Christine are two gals I stumbled upon

at our Holiday House Boutique

and they have crazy talent!

Red Leaf Designs!

They can personalize any picture and do just about any size too!

Ginger saved my hide and even dropped them by my house.

I was sooooo happy with how they turned out!

I just mod podged them onto a piece of painted black MDF

and wrapped a ribbon around them.

They were so cute and simple!

I also some how found a little time to put together

a fun tool box for our online craft group

Wood You Like To Craft.

I used a couple of old cedar fence slats to make it.

I wanted you guys to see how I taped the two pieces together

before I made my angled cuts.

It took me a minute or two to figure it out

so that I would have the right angle for both pieces

and it worked like a dream.

I think on the next box I'll use pine. Cedar just splits too easily.

I was glad I was going for a rustic look and the splits

just looked like it had character, right?:)

Here's another fun banner I did for a little boy's birthday party.

I must admit I am a little challenged when it comes to doing boy stuff.

Give me pinks and some glitter and I go nuts.

My hubby helped me make sure I didn't mess it up.

Isn't it fun?!

What was great is that the "name" was done on a separate piece

so he can hang it up in his room and get some great use out of it!

I've still got some fun pictures on my camera to share

but this afternoon I'm headed outside to

get some plants in the ground.

It has been so rainy and cold here, that with

the sun out......I'm going to go out too!

Spring Chicks

Today the first little chicks hatched from their eggs

in my daughter's classroom

and I admit it gave me goosebumps to see them!

SOOOOOO Cute!

Also, what an AMAZING Teacher!

We never did cool stuff like that in school when I was a kid.

Thought I'd share a picture of the spring chicks I did up

for the Spring Boutique a week ago.

Can I just say I'm still exhausted.

I went back and calculated the hours of sleep

I got that week from Monday to Friday

and it was lucky if it was even 10 hours.

I have been a walking zombie

and after prepping for Teacher Appreciation week

here it is 6:30 and I'm already to crawl into bed.

A Spring Boutique

I'm so exited for this weekend!

Holiday House is having their Spring Boutique

and I've been working as fast as I can to

get some fun goodies ready for it!

So if you haven't heard from me

it's because I'm out in the shed

working away.....

I'm pretty excited though because

I'll be doing a "signature piece" for them.

Soda Pop!

I have to admit that there are some projects

I enjoy working on more than others....

although I pretty much love everything I do!

I was so happy with how a couple of projects lately had turned out!

First up is a set of fun Coca Cola letters!

These were so fun to do and I was so happy with how they turned out!

Here they are after Sheila has painted them.

They were for the amazing Sheila over at The Craftaholic Creations.

She makes the most amazing dolls and I am in sewing envy!:)

Cool huh?

Next was my spin on our Wood You Like To Craft project.

If you haven't gone over to check it out you gotta!

Each month we will be doing a craft with wood

and following it up with a linky party

so you can show off your take on the craft tutorial that month.

It's going to be so much fun to see how each person's interpretation turns out

plus you get to show off your wood working skills and get to know each other!

Here are all the fun shapes I put together for each month.

I love doing seasonal stuff and this was just up my alley!

I'll be doing a class with this in May down at Paper Cottage.

The papers will vary a bit since I just used all my scraps to put these together.

I've been busy getting all my spring stuff going for the

Holiday House Boutique's Spring Boutique

in a couple of weeks.

Last year was their first year doing it and it was great!

I have to admit I love making spring and Easter stuff.

I love the pastels, they just make me happy.

I'll make sure to post the details for them here soon!

Wedding Letters

I had to just give you guys a look at these fun

letters I did up for the sweetest gal for her wedding.

I love the black and white theme

and even more the touches of hot pink!

The hubby to be is Irish and they wanted a shamrock

added for a sweet personal touch.

I will admit I get nervous about weddings

since it's such an important day I want things to be just right!

Is there a thing as too many hot pink rhinestones?:)

They were a little tough since the font was a slanted thin cursive

which is hard to angle so that they will stand upright.

It was a fun challenge though and I'm happy with the result!

Tomorrow I'll be putting my finishing touches on my

Wood You Like To Craft project for this month.

An Easter Basket

I've always wanted a real wood Easter Basket!

So I finally made one for my little girl

and will be offering them for a class down at Paper Cottage this month.

I was so happy with how it turned out

and loved the paper that's on it!

Remember the sneak peek I gave last week?

Well here's the pictures my sis sent over!

I love zebra print!

It just makes me happy!

I was pleasantly surprised with this cute

yellow, gray and white combo too!

Recognize the rolled felt rose scalloped heart?

My sis and I put together a red version over at Crafty Sisters which was to die for

but this one I'll admit had me giddy!

I found the perfect paper for these EAT letters

done in a fun watermelon theme!

Too fun!

Sneak Peeks!

My sweet sister Candace came over this morning

and brought her new camera

to snag some great pictures of some of my recent projects

I've been working on.

Yup....

I'm trying to keep my New Year's resolution to be better at

taking pictures of the fun stuff I get to do to share with all of you!

Here's a sneak peek (taken with my camera)

of a really fun set of letters I just finished!

I was so happy with how they turned out!

I have to admit sometimes I get frustrated looking for

things in the stores to embellish them with

so this time I made my own flowers

because I had no idea how hard it would be

to actually find any truly purple stuff to match!

Also here's some fun letters I did

for a little girl who loves Tinkerbell.

Can you see how the L mimics the fun T in Tinkerbell?

I'm hoping to get the other pictures from my sis tomorrow

and get them posted!

Right now I'm trying to get an Easter basket made

for my upcoming class in March.

Ready For Spring!!!

I am sooooooooooo ready for Spring.

It doesn't help my impatience when I'm cutting out butterflies

and playing with pretty soft colors.

I think Spring is my favorite time of the year

with all the trees in bloom and the tulips.....oh the tulips!

I am a SAHM that loves to create things with wood.

I have my own little shop that I cut everything out all myself.

So if there's something you see, a shape a letter, a font you are interested in,

I can cut it out for you in whichever size and thickness you desire.

I do a lot of letters and then I do fun projects like this...

This was my sister and I's latest project we did over at Crafty Sisters!

I did snap a couple of pictures of fun projects

I've been working on.

First is "Jenga", which was done for my nephew's birthday.

It was so much fun to make!

I love doing the inlaid stuff, it's like doing a puzzle.

Another for a Fancy Nancy themed room

which my daughter had a blast telling me

what I needed to put on while referencing her Fancy Nancy book.:)

This was done in that fun Storybook font I love.

I made up some of these fun chunky xoxo's which were so fun!

I'm working on a really fun project with my Fabulous Sister-in-law

which I'll be so excited to share when it's done.....

It's seems only fitting to title this post Adore....

not just because of my latest project

but because I simply adore each and everyone of you

that have supported me and been a part of my life and little business.

Sometimes it doesn't seem like I can say it enough

and honestly it doesn't seem like enough to say!

This year has been a whirlwind for me!

Most of you know I'm half of "Crafty Sisters"

which honestly as far as blogging goes....comes first.

(Hey I got a sister counting on me!)

Sometimes I think I should just combine the blogs since I

feel like I double post about my projects here.:)

I have been so lucky to meet so many fun and great people

and cultivate the wonderful friendships I've made with so many of you.

Yup, it's that time of year, and I feel like I'm MIA.

But trust me, there's lots of action going on out in my shop.

Yesterday in my crazy efforts to be ready for our fun Bazaar starting today

I realized that I hadn't slept in 40 hours.

Yup...

I'm nuts.

But after going out and working at our little Bazaar this morning

I just have to say that I was just happy

to see something that we all work so hard for

come together and look so great!

I'm so glad to be a part of this group of talented ladies.

This is our 3rd year doing our Bazaar and I've really grown

to appreciate and respect these Bazaar gals!

So if you want to see some great stuff head on out to Eagle....

you won't be disappointed!!

Pumpkins, Pilgrims & A Turkey....

There is something I particularly love about this time of year.

It's not the nice cooler weather

or the fact that my grass is the perfect shade of green.

Those things are pretty cool but...

I love the colors of this season!

Such soft muted tones

but yet such fun vibrant colors!

So I got my turkey and pilgrim groove on

and here's my latest projects

I'll be doing for classes down at Paper Cottage.

I had a ton of fun making these little guys!

I made some turkeys for the boutique last weekend and

they disappeared so I figured they must be cute.

I love the simplicity of these pumpkins and their shape.

I have a tendency to like "primitive" things

and I thought these were a perfect back drop.

Now if I can just recuperate from the boutique and

having a double class weekend.......

Here's my latest fun projects for Halloween!

I'll be teaching these both down at Paper Cottage

on September 25th!

I just love this paper!

It's from Echo Park Paper Co.

I mixed up the fonts on this one,

not wanting the typical ghosts that usually accompany them.

The eyeballs are actually eye screwed in for a nice dangle effect!

Here's a fun set of letters I did recently

that I was sure pleased with!

They almost took up my whole counter!

I'm so excited to see how they are decorated....

I have always wanted to have some fun PLAY room letters

and lately I love any excuse I can find to display little pictures.

So when I found this fun font, I knew it was perfect!

I just loved the fun bright whimsical paper on them

and had so much fun finding some of my favorite

funny shots of my little girl.

I'll be doing a class on Saturday for these

and keeping a few kits on hand down

at Paper Cottage.

I also have wanted to do some EAT letters for my kitchen.

Everywhere I have looked they are always so plain

and just painted black.

I found the prettiest paper from Basic Grey,

which honestly is probably too pretty for my kitchen

but I had so much fun putting them together!

These letters I'll be doing a class on in a couple of weeks too!

I've got to get my pictures organized so I can show you

some of the fun ones that have been sent in lately!

BTW Thanks ladies for doing this for me!

I love seeing what you end up doing

and I know it sparks ideas for me and everyone

else who peeks on here!

These are 10" letters I key holed to hang across a wall.

I just love this font!

I love just about anything Americana.

When I first moved here and got to hang out with my sister Candace,

I quickly found out she had a thing for Americana stuff.

You could say it rubbed off on me just a tad....

We were constantly on the lookout for all things that were

barn red's, soft steely navy blue's, cream or resembled twine.

I love anything primitive and folk art-ish

and when we do our bazaar each year

there ends up being a bit of it in just about everything we do.

So this year I needed to add to my Patriotic Decor a bit

and found some fabulous paper to help me out!

I'll be teaching these letters as a class down at Paper Cottage

on the 19th of June and if I'm ambitious enough

I'll actually head over and update my Etsy shop!:)

It's been a crazy couple of weeks for me

with the unexpected back surgery for

my Superman Father who

has a really hard time accepting help.

He's used to doing everything for everyone else

and doesn't quite know what to do when he can't.

But for me it's a pleasure and an honor to be able

to actually help he and my Mom out.

Now if I can just get through

the last week of school and

Kindergarten graduation......

who requested I cut her out a kite for her Seasonal Hanger

and I must say I am pleased with the result!

So much so that I'll be offering these as "Kits to Go"

down at Paper Cottage

along with a Dandy Tie just in time for Father's Day!

Each hanger comes in a kit ready to be assembled

for only $15 each!

If you don't have the hanger you can easily make these into door hangers with

a little ribbon tied through the hooks!

Don't forget to personalize the tie for your Dad!

I've had several requests for them.

This time I put the cute little clothespins on the back to hold pictures

like Angela did on hers over at Secrets of a Super Mommy!

They turned out really Fun~~~thanks Angela for your brilliant idea!!!

for my friend's son.

His older brother had gotten one when he was a baby

and of course he needed one, bigger and better!

I can't wait to see his all decorated~~I'm told it will be all Star Wars!

Just in time for Mother's Day

is my version of easy gardening!

I knew as soon as I saw the new Basic Grey Paper and the cute flowers on the paper

that this was what I needed to make!

My little girl had so much helping pick out all the buttons for the flowers!

I'll be teaching a class on these in April down at Paper Cottage

and hopefully get some ready for my Etsy shop too!

Last week's Boutique was really fun!

My sister Candace and I were so busy trying to make fun stuff to share!

We were up to our eyeballs in moss, eggs and bunnies!

I just love making bunnies!

Anyone For A Spring Boutique?

I have to admit I'm really excited for this boutique that

Holiday House was so kind to invite us to be a part of.

In fact I found myself daydreaming of all the fun things

to make and wondering why Christmas crafts couldn't all be

pretty shades of pastels and bunnies, it would be so much funner!

We Crafty Sisters have some fun things planned to bring

plus there will be tons of other cute stuff

just in time to fill those Easter Baskets!

Now what I'm really excited for is this SHOW & TELL!!!

Remember wonderful Connie? We featured her

drop dead gorgeous heart wreath over at Crafty Sisters.

Well she's at it again and was kind enough to send me some pictures!

Seriously...could this be any more beautiful?

I was in complete awe!

This cool HoHoHo was actually all one piece of wood.

Connie saw the idea in a magazine and brought it to me.

I even put keyholes in the back so this one can hang up on a wall.

Doesn't Connie's Joy just make you happy?

Next up is Connie's Daughter's work!

These letters we did in the same font as my Fall letters.

I just love all the decorations and do-dads she put on here. Love it!

Last but not least are the baby letters she did up for her little girl's room!

I have to admit the font with these letters is still one of my all time fav's!

I have a couple of projects up my sleeve that hopefully I'll get done this week and post about.

Last year I had so much fun cutting out some projects for some of my neighborhood friends.

They have their oldest children getting married and they needed some family keepsakes they had made several years ago copied so each "new" family member was included in their celebrations.

I have to admit this part of my job I really enjoy!

I love seeing and learning about the fun things you do with your families!

and since I was busy making all things Bunny and Easter, it seemed fitting for a title.

I'm a sucker for all things pink.

Really, there is pink in everything I create, it's shocking if there isn't.

Lucky for me my little girl shares this fancy and it was so fun to see her reaction to my Easter creations.

I "Heart" Valentines Day!

I'm not sure why I love hearts and Valentines Day so much.

I guess I should clarify that last statement, I love Valentine Decorations.

As I was putting my Christmas Decor away with glee my eye was caught on the

bright pink tote I keep everything Valentine....

A nice pink subtle reminder of the pinky goodness inside! It prompted me to get going with my BE MINE letters I'm doing a class on down at Paper Cottage,

I've just been stumped for doo dads to put on them.

The most brilliant thought crossed my mind as I was talking to my sister Candace who is the yin to my yang and it occurred to me that my Dr. Pepper can I was guzzling was the perfect matching shade!

Seriously could it be any more perfect to make hearts out of?

Something I love becoming a decoration for a LOVE holiday????

All I can say is I LOVE IT! And that's that.:)

So yes, with the holidays over I can say loudly "Phewwwwww".

It seems silly that a good 4 months of the year is dedicated to all things Santa and Snow.

I do like making baby Jesus' though.

Maybe it's that I have ADD, but I like to mix it up and work on lots of colorful things.

There is not much wintery paper out there and

I don't like being reminded of winter blues....so I did something bright!

I love the little snowman and his scarf!

I'm sure my nephew thought I'd forgotten his birthday....I almost did...or should I say it

got kicked to the back burner.....

But I finally got it done and my Hubby was even envious!

I even found time to make a ridiculously over sized P for my sister Candace.

She told me she wanted a pretty monogram but I obviously misinterpreted 12 x 12 inches to be

2 feet by 3 feet. I never really liked math....

I have to say, that if you asked me where I'd be a year ago, I never thought I'd be here.

I never thought I'd be running my own little business

covered in saw dust.:)

I try sometimes to see the blessing that even though it stank my husband lost his job,

something I'd always wanted to do, came like a phoenix from the ashes,

(yes, I've been watching too much Harry Potter!)

but I'm here, and I survived this last year and most of all I have all of you to thank!

Santa, the elves need to work faster!

I love making things for people, love seeing their excitement when they get it, love hearing about how much fun they have making things and memories together! It makes my day! So this "Santa" has been pretty busy out in her little workshop making some fun stuff and apologizes that her camera doesn't get much use to show all the fun things I've been working on!

Here's a few snap shots my hubby got for me before they went out the door....

I love the simple shapes of things and I come to appreciate how

just the shape of something simple in itself is just as

pretty as the paper that goes on it!

What made my day on Monday while I was out shoveling snow was a cute lady

who stopped in front of my house to tell me that she loved my "barn" nativity as I call it.

She told me that she had seen it last year and had been waiting for me to put it out this year.

My sister Candace and I made these the last two years for our bazaar. This was last year's version that I tweaked a little. I love how it turned out and it is my favorite Christmas decoration to put out!

Stop The Insanity!

Remember that lady back in the 90's who was pretty butch and had the blonde crew cut that always had those commercials on TV saying "Stop the Insanity!" That about sums up this week for me and made my comfy bed oh so inviting last night. What made it even better was that my husband secretly turned off my cell phone and banned my little girl from my room......aaahhhh was it nice. Well it's all because our second Boutique was this weekend.....

This one is a really cute one to participate in! I completely marvel at some of the creative talents that these ladies have! My wonderful sister Candace joined me in my insanity and we tried to make some fun stuff of which I don't have any pictures of, of course! So if you have some spare time today head on over, it's one of the best boutiques of the season! I also finally got December's Seasonal Hanger done and I think seeing all the fluffy froo froo in the stores, I just had to add something.....hope ya like!

This paper is so pretty on here! You can't tell from the picture but the swirls are actually silver and it seemed a shame to cover it up with any other adornments! I had actually cut some smaller versions of this shape out for my friend Cary and fell in love with the shape earlier this year. I'm thinking of doing some more smaller ones that I could make a garland out of.....oh the dreams of projects I have.......

Tis' The Season....Fa la la la la......

Here is my latest item I have done just in time for the holidays and also that I'll be teaching a class on tomorrow at Paper Cottage. Yes, I should be out in the workshop cutting those little birds out but I thought I'd get caught up blogging for a bit!

I love these Believe letters! I love the paper from Making Memories which has been selling out very quickly! It has the cutest Christmas tree shapes and colors! Plus the thing that got me were the black with white polka dots! I'm a polka dot person anyway, but I thought it was such a fun addition to your typical "Christmas" colored themed paper! I had fun with these!

GREAT NEWS!

Our little bazaar that we started last year was a complete success this year! Even after 3 all nighters in one week I was able to finish it out with a smile! It was so neat to have repeat customers/visitors come and tell us how much they loved our little bazaar and that it was one of their favorites to go to! Hooray! Who cares if anything sold, they liked us! Yes, I sound like Sally Field! They liked me, they really liked me....

I had so much fun I somehow convinced my sweet sister to come craft with me and now we are going to do 2 more boutiques. The one coming up is the Holiday House Boutique that will be happening next Friday and Saturday over off of Chinden and Locust Grove in the Saguaro Canyon Neighborhood. These gals run a class act boutique with everything homemade! It should be a blast! I'll post a flier pronto!

WHERE DID OCTOBER GO?

Okay I totally forgot to put up the cute spider we did for our seasonal hanger! It was so fun to do and my little girl had a blast with the puzzle of teeth! Isn't he cute!

One of my favorite gals Diane Rusnick sent me a picture of her completed BOO letters she did! Aren't they to die for!!!!

This stork really made me use my brain cells, yes I almost spelled it sells.....

This guy was over 4 feet tall and I had to figure out how to hook him up to some rebar so he could stick in the ground. The little baby bundle was hanging off of a hook and was interchangeable. My friend Julie had seen these in yards back in Arizona and wanted something like it. I chose to go the more realistic route instead of comical and it was a blast to make!

I've got to get our December Seasonal Hanger cut out today and done and I think it'll be a beauty. Will post as soon as it's done!

The Great Pumpkin....would Charlie Brown approve?

Fall is certainly in the air, I can see and feel it for sure as I had to turn on the furnace this week! The season of boutiques has snuck up on me fast so this week I got geared up for all the wood cutting before me as I donned my husbands crazy long grey socks, ya know the ones with the ugly red stripe at the top and I turned on the space heater in my shed so my fingers could actually grip the wood as I saw away. I just hope I can get it all done and have my sanity and family intact when I am done!:) So here's what's new.....

First up I am actually pleasantly surprised with how fun and cute my Give Thanks letters turned out. I hunted high and low for paper all over town and actually ended up with this Christmas paper to cover them with, yes, you're thinking...when did orange become a Christmas color? Good question, but somehow it works with these and it worked for me! Thank goodness! I love pumpkins, I love the shape or the abnormal shape of them. I love watching them grow all season long and the pretty vines they produce. Although our pumpkin plant was a dud this year or more like I was a dud in fertilizing it, it still has the most beautiful vines even though not one pumpkin was produced.....yes, a tear. None the less I thought these letters were a fresh approach and got me excited about brining the turkey again this year!

Next is our pumpkin for my Seasonal Hanger. I teach a class down at Paper Cottage for this one too and I just love love love this class! I don't think I say it enough but it sure is a fun event! So if any of you guys are looking for a great excuse to have a girls day out come on down! Keep an eye out for next month's hanger, I'm going to attempt a cool hanging ornament!

As for "The" Boutique", the boutique/bazaar my sister Candace and I started with a couple other gals out in Eagle is a go again this year after the fun success we had last year! It's going to be November 5th-7th 10am-5pm at the Brookwood Clubhouse on Old Barn Road in Eagle. It's right off of Eagle and Floating Feather and it should be a blast! Some of these ladies amaze me with their amazing talents! Very cool handmade and very one of a kind things here! Come on out and visit! Now if I can only get the extra signs painted.....:)

Eeewwwwww Witchy Woman......

Halloween by far and I mean really far, were talking miles and miles here....is my all time favorite holiday ever! Seriously how can you go wrong with dressing up and gorging on candy? PERFECTO! So here is my latest little project for Halloween! My sister saw some cute witch decorations last year and gave me the idea to fiddle with, so here's my take on Witch! Too much fun! I can't believe I'm already working on Fall stuff already even though the high temps here are making me more than ready for Fall to come. So here are the Fall letters I'm doing and teaching a class on as well as my Seasonal Hanger for September is an Apple. The whole time I was decorating these two I kept having the hardest time trying to embellish embellish embellish and then I realized KISS....Keep it simple stupid. Something totally foreign to me, keeping it simple, but then again it's probably why I love Fall decor. It's just simple, soft and I love it!

I just love seeing every one's different ideas, so I when I get pictures in I'll try to get them posted asap! Here are a few my sister sent over that her sister-in-laws put together! Enjoy!

Here is Candy's flower she did for her seasonal hanger! Then she matched her urns with flowers to go along with! It looks great!

Candy also put together these cute letters for her soon to be born nephew! They are so fun!

Here are her sis-in-law Courtney's Spring letters! Her other sis-in-law Rishelle did these ones! I just love them both and love seeing how different they turned out! Great job ladies!:)

It's Etsy time!

Okay, I finally took the time to get going on Etsy! Yes, there's only one thing on there but I'm working on it! It took forever to figure out the banner since I'm computer illiterate, but I'm hoping to have more stuff up and better pictures this week!

Also wanted to let the great ladies from my Seasonal Hanger class know how much I appreciate them! I look forward to this class all month long. Almost everyone orders a kit, but I have 4 gals that come to class and it's been really fun to get to know each of them! They are so funny and we just have a blast chatting together! Thanks for making me laugh Karen, Dana, Cary & Suzette!!!

The heat is ON!

Yes, a weird title for my post but it seemed fitting since the heat has finally arrived for our summer here in Boise! I think this is the rainiest climate or spring at least that I have ever lived in! This summer has been busy and I love all the fun projects going on!

So some of these little projects I had to share with you all and do a tad of bragging about the super talented ladies I get to rub shoulders with! You guys inspire me and bring complete joy to what I do! Seeing you have as much fun creating this stuff as I do makes my job completely satisfying, so....THANK YOU!!!!

First up are a few things by Karen Sanders, super talented and creative gal! All of these were made to hang off of her Seasonal Calendar, the possibilities are endless! I just love the paper she used for this fun coffee cup!

I never thought I'd have so much fun cutting out a shoe, but seriously it made me giggly, is that even a word? Too much fun!Next up are these adorable Gabriel letters done by Dawn Simpson! The font is Rustler and she decorated them in vintage Disney papers! I love it! Especially how each letter is slightly skewed, it just adds a bit more fun!

Back by popular demand are the Family letters. I have had more requests for these letters than anything else I have done. I guess it's true, there's nothing more important than family, ha ha ha, yes like the laugh by John Travolta in Grease.... These papers were so fun and I was inspired by my Sis-in-law Autumn who did her little girls room in these colors. This was fun!

Also had to show you my Father's Day tie I made for my Hubby Britt. He loves bold geometric designs and I was so bummed I ripped the paper on one side a bit and of course only glitter glue could remedy the situation. He wasn't so sure, but after my little girl Avery tried to sell him on the idea and he saw the end result he was happy. I'm thinking it would be fun to do a different pattern each year....we'll see! Happy Fathers Day!

Okay, I finally got around to getting my Birthday Banner done and here it is! I got a little carried away with the glitter glue, but I just couldn't help myself!

I wanted to do something summery....is that even a word? I just love decorating with the seasons and holidays and the little ants that are being a nuisance in my garage inspired me with these Summer Letters.

This Cupcake Candy and I made for our kid's Preschool Teacher and thought it's perfect for Birthday celebrating throughout the year. The bottom is a plaque with chalkboard paint so you can write in the name of whose birthday you are celebrating! Fun idea and it sits on your counter. Avery was all to happy to be the display model....

Just in time for 4th of July I did a cute star cut out for the Seasonal Calendar. I love Americana stuff and I love stars!

We're talking "Under Major Construction"!

Welcome to my little blog, and yes it's under major construction! After several requests and a whole lot of urging from my sister Candace....here is a blog to track my latest and greatest projects I've got going on and hopefully I can share the cool stuff my great friends and clients have put together too!

I am so blessed to be able to do something that I love and that I get to meet so many cool people and see all the cools things they are making. It's great! My sister and I have always had a ton of fun crafting together and when we couldn't find something we wanted in a store we were crazy enough to think we could figure a way to make it ourselves. I moved here to Boise a little over 2 years ago and we have had a blast together creating stuff! We are two fearless girls who's hubby's put up with us and our crafts (or crap as they call it).;) My sister Candace has not only been my muse, she is my biggest cheerleader and believes in me, she is the best! Thanks Candy!

I can pretty much cut out most anything. I specialize in letters for names and so forth. You see a font you like and we'll run with it! A great website I love is http://www.dafont.com/ ! Not only does it have lots of cool fonts but it also has a great preview window to let you see what your project will look like when it's done! I can do just about any size of letter that you want and I cut primarily out of a 3/4" thick MDF board which paints, sands and cuts out like butter! So if you have a project you want to do just give me a holler!:)

Here are a few of the projects I've worked on lately. Everything I do is pretty much made/cut to order. Primarily everything comes in a unfinished form/plain wood. If you need some help putting a kit together with papers I can help with that too!

up bigger, but this one I did for a gal named Robbie!

Her kitchen is decorated with cows and she

did a great job with these! Here is one of my first orders I did for someone else!
Her name was Nicole too and she was doing this for her

friend's nursery. She did such a great job and was so kind

to show me pictures of it all done! Great job!
